moving right along....a little late

Well baby G is two months old! We went to his two month check up on Friday and well our little bean is just that LITTLE he weighs 10 lbs. 15 oz. his head was 39 cm and he was 22.5 in. he is in the 25th percentile all around! The doctor said he is growing and very healthy and that he is strong for his age! He is the cutest most alert little guy and he is so much fun to play with! Here is a list of the things he is doing at 2 months...

One month old!

I can't believe that just one month ago our little guy was born! He is such a good little baby he sleeps a ton and hardly ever fusses. He is starting to fill out he is still pretty little but he is healthy so that's all that matters! He is still in newborn diapers and I don't think we will be moving to size one's anytime soon ( he has NO butt what so ever!) we ran out of diapers the other night and so I decided to try on a size one...it almost ate him alive! He is still in newborn clothes nothing else fits! He loves his bink and if he doesn't have it he sucks his thumb. He is undecided about tummy time but the other day he rolled himself over and it scared the crap out of me! He HATES the bath and having his diaper changed! He can tell when mommy and daddy are talking when there are lots of people around! He is starting to eat more often...sometimes I think he is a bottomless pit! He loves his bouncer! He smiles and makes the funniest little faces and sounds!

Gav's birth story

*Warning long story*

It all started on the night of Feb 2nd I got a headache that would not go away I thought it was just because I hadn't really had a real meal that day since breakfast (I had NO appetite at all) well that night Carl and I went to the high school and walked around the halls and up and down the stairs to see if my contractions (that had been around for two weeks) would get any stronger. We came home after walking and went to bed not thinking anything of this headache...well I woke up Wednesday the 3rd and got ready for work...showered started doing my hair and all of a sudden I got pretty dizzy and saw stars in my eyes....well our Dr had warned me about preeclampsia and during this whole pregnancy had me taking my blood pressure's at home and I would report to her at our appointments well my BP had never been a huge concern so I just kind of blew it off and I got out of the shower too fast or I was too hot doing my hair. Well I went to work and ignored the headache that was pounding in my head...Carl kept checking up on me while I was at work and when it was noon and I was off work he made me call the Dr just to make sure. I called the Dr and we had an appointment the next day so the nurse told me to come in today just to make sure. I called Carl told him to come home and that we had a Dr appointment at 1:30 so he came home and off we went to the appointment. We got to the office and did the routine...vitals, urine sample, blah blah well my BP was a little higher than normal and I had made progress so our Dr sent us down to labor and delivery to be monitored and sent us on our way! Carl and I both looked at each other in shock...Carl looked at me and said so what does that mean? I told him I wasn't sure and that we were most likely going home in an hour. Well I was wrong...we got to L&D thinking they would just put us in a triage room well I was wrong again they sent us into a labor room and the nurse put my band on and gave me a gown and told me to get comfortable....well me still being in denial about this whole thing told Carl it was just because they didn't have a triage room open or it was because Dr Ponder called so they put us in a room this is me in denial...well we got settled in and hooked up to the monitors...my BP was being taken every ten min. After we were monitored for an hour and my BP's staying higher than normal I had one that was 156/96...the next one was 176/102 so my Dr came in and told us that I officially had preeclampsia and that my BP was starting to scare her and that we needed to get me hooked up to Magnesium and after that she was going to start Pitocin and break my water. Well this was not in my plans I had planned to go natural...I had planned to do Hypnobirthing and this was just not part of my plan I was pissed, scared, and confused all at the same time! I was so upset that my labor wouldn't be natural I wasn't going to go into labor on my own and I had to have Pitocin this was the last thing I wanted to happen! When Dr Ponder came back in to break my water and give me the Pitocin around 5:00. We started talking about the Hypnobirthing and she explained that it was still possible and that we could still try and if it got too hard she would send in the anesthesiologist and I would get an epidural. So she broke my water and we started Pitocin, called my mom and told her to call my dad and head to the hospital but there was no rush. I labored through the contractions for about two hours until I couldn't take it anymore and asked for an epidural. My labor wasn't progressing very fast so at about 11:30 we sent my parents home and told them we would call once it was time to push. Well at about 3:00 the morning or the 4th I was a 9 and completely thinned and ready to start pushing so Carl called my mom to let her know she should head to the hospital...well after pushing for an hour my contractions decided to just stop so they increased the Pitocin and we waited...nothing so they increased it again and we waited...I slept...and nothing...so they increased it again and well I could feel the contractions but they weren't being picked up on the monitor so I had to tell the nurse when I was going to push...after 3 hours of pushing in came Dr Ponder who called in before her shift to see if I was still in labor and I was so she came in early so that she could be there to deliver the baby. Once my Dr was there with us she really motivated me to push and within half an hour the baby was here!! So after about 15 and a half hours of being in labor our little guy made his arrival on February 4, 2011 the same Birhtday and his uncle Josh!! It wasn't exactly how I wanted it to happen but it was completely worth it!! This little guy has changed our lives for the best and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world! Being a mom is definitely the most amazing thing I have done this far!

Our little guy has made his arrival...after a little over 15 hrs of labor he made it here to see us and he even shares a Birthday with his Uncle Josh!! We love him and can not keep our eyes off of this new little man in our lives!! I'll share more when we get home and settled in to our new crazy life! Until then here is our AMAZING little guy!

37 weeks 3 days...38 weeks 3 days....

Dear baby Gav, Mommy says you can come out now!!!

Well.....here we are nearing the end of this pregnancy...yep that's right THE END. We have been going to the dr every week for the last couple weeks and everything is looking good! The dr told us that this babe is measuring a week early and has been for the last couple months but she didn't want to get our hopes up and she just told us two weeks ago that we should start preparing but not to get too excited because it isn't a rare thing for 1st time mommies to over their due date...so as of right now we are going with whatever this little guy has to throw at us and aren't paying attention to any due dates...or trying to at least!! This little guy sure does know how to drive his mommy nuts already I've been having contractions for the last three days but they aren't increasing in intensity or getting closer together....It's just great let me tell ya oh and at our dr app on Friday I was dilated to a "high one almost two" and 50%!! Whoooo lets hope I wont just stop and sit at this for weeks and weeks while I continue to have contractions!

This last week we also found out that Josh and Maddison will be having a BOY this summer!! I'm sooooo excited for them and for Gav to have a little buddy only about 4 months younger than him!! Congrats guys!! Also this week I gave my 2 well 3 weeks at work...not knowing when this little dude will be coming I gave my work 3 weeks notice that I will not be coming back after our little dude is here! I'm so lucky to have such a hard working amazing husband that is going to be able to support our little family so that I can stay home and raise our little dude!! I can't wait to be a stay at home mommy and be able to spend all the time I can with the Gav man!! Now for the survey and a horrible belly pic....he has dropped sooo much this last two weeks I'm surprised he hasn't just fallen out yet!! lol

How far along? 37.3...38.3 either way...

How big is baby? Watermelon

Stretch marks? Yep

Maternity clothes? Jeans...few shirts.

Weight gain? Lost a lb. from last time

Sleep? Not so great at night so I'm all about my afternoon naps.

Best moment this week? Finding out we are dilated and things are happening down there!

Food cravings? Nothing sounds great anymore...

Gender? boy boy boy

Movement? Slowed down a bit but still moving all the time.

What I miss? Clothes...sleep...my wedding ring.

Labor signs? Contractions...dilated to a 1 and 50%...

Milestone? The end is in sight...measuring a week early and just being so close to meeting our little babe!!!

34 weeks...only 40 days to go!!

Well today we are 34 weeks and 2 days!! I can't believe I am this far and in about 40 days (give or take) I will be holding my little guy in my arms!! Can I tell you how happy this makes me!! I can't wait to see what he looks like, kiss him, cuddle him, and I absolutely can not wait to see him and his daddy bond with each other!! I'm not going to lie this last week things have gotten a lot harder than they have been...for some reason I just can't wait to be done being pregnant I've had multiple mental breakdowns and I just really miss my old self...I miss my clothes, I miss not being able to sleep, I miss not being able to walk around for 20 min without being out of breath, and I miss not being able to bend over to tie my own shoes for crying out loud! I just keep telling myself this is completely worth EVERY SINGLE SECOND of being uncomfortable once he is here and safe I know I'll look back and say oh it wasn't THAT bad! Milestone? 34 weeks!!! He is healthy and has been cleared of all concerns they had with him being anemic.

Baby Shower # 1

My cute friends threw me a great baby shower on Jan. 11th and it turned out sooo cute we got lots of sweet stuff for the babes! They did a theme with baby jungle animals and it turned out great not to mention the delish food and drinks they had! Thanks again Nat and Court you guys really are so great I can't tell you how much it meant that you guys did this shower for us! We got some really great gifts from everyone that could make it! This little guy will be one clean baby that is a for sure thing! Thanks again to everyone that was able to make it!!
